two dogs escape from our fenced in area?
I have two really sweet dogs, a AKC registered english springer spaniel and a black lab. we have a very large fenced in area. we live in the country. we have tried and tried to keep the dogs fenced in. they escaPE and tear things up. they get under the house and pulls all of our heater vents apart and puts insulation all over our yard. the lab is really big and strong. she haS DESTROYED all 3 fence gates. we have used wood on the gates, concrete blocks on the ground where the dogs get out. they just tore a hole thru some stone underpining and got under the house again and pulled heating vents apart. my husband won't let the dogs in the house. i love these dogs. the english springer spaniel i got after my dad died.the dog really comforted me. the dogs bark when someone comes down are driveway. i feel safer having the dogs. what do i do. i think i will have to find the dogs a new home. i don't want to separate them. help.... the dogs are about 7 years old.
I had the digging problem with the dogs. First, I put a hotwire around the areas that I did not want them to go then turned off after a few weeks. The next thing I did was bury chain link fencing in the ground, laid flat, about 2 inches down. That stopped the digging all together.
