Attic insulation for our homes.
What type of insulation should be for our home floor. R (etc.) or not? We are in Central Pennsylvania. Our house is square feet. 1,200 Ranch. 3 Bdr, 1.5 w Bth / garage 1. (Carport is surrounded to the previous owner as part of the house to garage and back of the laundry). Home was created 1965. Beams / Trusses can be seen in the attic. Can not find that type of insulation rolled. Not blow or type of shot, but you want to print brown horsehair. (, Strands???), We have oil reserves of the oven we. Wood stove 95% in seasonally colder. Unit. Central Air (Power) based in the season warmer. How thick should the attic or what not. Is the best type / brand, and something less expensive. / Top of the line, but how effective.
In your attic space should be. R-38, which equals 14 "of blown fiber Glass. Found in the phone book of the insulation contractor. When building my house 5 years ago I found it cheaper to hire them than to protect themselves. They buy insulation by boxcar. Burden has better prices than you or I at home. Hope this helps.
